Review Policy

Thank you for visiting Read and Live Well.

I am open to requests for book reviews however due to time limitations and reading preferences, I do have some requirements.

Genre

I like to read across a wide variety of genres, however I do not generally read books that are: science-fiction, horror, romance/ erotica, fantasy/ paranormal. Of course there are always exceptions however I will not be accepting review requests from these genres.

I prefer literary fiction, historical fiction, mystery/ thrillers, and occasionally contemporary fiction. I do enjoy short story collections that are literary fiction and magical realism.

Series

I will not accept review requests for books in a series.

Format

I do not enjoy reading e-books therefore will not be accepting review requests of this type.

Self-published books

Due to time constraints, I will not accept requests for review of self-published books. I do like to support Australian women’s writing however, so there may be exceptions to this.

Guarantees

I do guarantee a review of every book I accept for review, however there will not be a guaranteed time frame. I will always endeavour to publish my review within a reasonably period.

I will always publish the review on my blog, Read and Live Well. I also post my reviews to Goodreads and Amazon, as well as mentioning them on various social media sites, however these additional means of coverage is not guaranteed when I accept a book for review. I retain the right to publish the review on any other publications I choose to submit it to.

Due to time constraints, I do not guarantee a response to each individual review request. If I have not responded to your request within a reasonable time frame, please assume I am not interested in reviewing that particular book. I do appreciate each request.

Thank you for your interest!

  • #currentlyreading When Michael Met Mina
..
Sticking to the theme of refugees in Australia, as I am currently reading They Cannot Take the Sky and also recently read The Bone Sparrow
..
This is YA fiction about Michael, whose parents run the political party called 'Aussie Values', and Mina, who fled Afghanistan with her mother and arrived in Australia by boat.
..
This has some pretty confronting characters but I'm sure is not actually far from reality for many in Australia.
