Harry-Pott-A-Thon Day 12! The Good Guys vs Bad Guys vs the Ignoramus *SPOILERS*

Harry-Pott-A-Thon Day 12! The Good Guys vs Bad Guys vs the Ignoramus *SPOILERS*

Poor Harry can’t catch a break.

First he survives the wrath of the Dark Lord for the fourth, or is it the fifth, time (I’ve lost count)?

Then, without so much as a thank-you-for-saving-all-our-lives, Harry gets shipped back to the Dursley’s for yet another summer of bullying, abuse and neglect from his only blood relatives. At least Privet Drive provides a safe-haven from all things dark magic. That is until a pair of Dementors pay him a visit to kill him, although they fail spectacularly as they are chased away by Harry’s Patronus stag.

Finally he is reunited with his magical friends, only to find out the Daily Prophet has been running a smear campaign and Harry returns to Hogwarts as possibly the least popular student.

Classes recommence nonetheless and our now fifth year students are facing the biggest challenge of their academic careers thus far, the O.W.L.S. But as I approach the half-way point of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, it is looking unlikely that our students will be able to focus all of their attention on the upcoming examinations, as the minor issue of a major war between good and evil may prove a distraction.

Despite what the Ministry of Magic and the Daily Prophet say, Lord Voldemort is back and is focusing his evil energy on rebuilding his army of Death Eaters. Dumbledore would prefer the good guys are more prepared for Voldemort’s assault this time around, and is leading the Order of the Phoenix. Dumbledore’s efforts are being hampered, however, by the Minister of Magic himself, Mr Fudge, who is steadfast in his belief that Dumbledore is demented and delusional, and Harry is just an angsty attention-seeking teenager, and is doing what he can to discredit the two.

I did make an early prediction back on day 10 of Harry-Pott-A-Thon that Mr Fudge would be evil. Whilst he didn’t reveal his true colours in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, I stand by that prediction! That is the only explanation for his ineptitude and belligerence; well that or he’s just incredibly stupid and ignorant. Either way, he should not be in charge of the magical arm of government.

Still with 392 pages and two books remaining in my Harry Potter marathon, the battle between good and evil, or let’s face it, Harry and Voldemort, still has some way to go.

Time to keep reading!

This is YA fiction about Michael, whose parents run the political party called 'Aussie Values', and Mina, who fled Afghanistan with her mother and arrived in Australia by boat.
..
This has some pretty confronting characters but I'm sure is not actually far from reality for many in Australia.
